About

Maximilian Janisch

Born in Zurich in 2003, I showed an early affinity for mathematics. At nine, I passed the Swiss Matura exam in mathematics with top marks. By fifteen I had completed my high school diploma, and I enrolled as a regular student at the University of Zurich.

I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in mathematics at UZH before joining the Zürich Graduate School in Mathematics as Switzerland's youngest doctoral student. In June 2025, I defended my PhD thesis at the age of 21 under the supervision of Prof. Ashkan Nikeghbali, with co-advisors Fields Medallists Prof. Artur Avila and Prof. Alessio Figalli.

After completing my doctorate, I joined Jane Street in London as a quantitative trading intern before moving to Qube Research & Technologies as a quantitative researcher. In 2023, I was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list for Switzerland.
